BLOOMINGTON, IL (April 11,
2007) – “VIVA LAS VEGAS,” The Bloomington Normal Airport Authority is
pleased to announce that AirTran Airways will begin new, non-stop, jet service
to Las Vegas, Nevada from the Central Illinois Regional Airport beginning August
15, 2007.
These Las Vegas flights will be
offered fours days per week beginning on August 15, with departures from the
Central Illinois Regional Airport on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with
return flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
AirTran Airways will be offering this new service onboard their fleet of
new Boeing 737-700 aircraft which seat 137 passengers and provide free XM
satellite radio at every seat, oversized overhead compartments, affordable
business class seating, and of course — that new airplane smell.
This new service marks the third destination served by AirTran Airways
from the
Central
Illinois
Regional
Airport
. The airline already operates
twenty-five, non-stop, jet flights per week serving
Atlanta
,
Georgia
, and
Orlando
,
Florida
.

is located two miles east of Veteran’s Parkway on Route 9 in
Bloomington

Illinois
and features five airlines, five car rentals and several retail shops. In
addition, a business center open to the general public, conference rooms and a
VIP lounge cater to the region’s air travelers. Wireless Internet access is
available throughout the building.
