Airways to start nonstop service to Ft. Myers, FL from CIRA in March

IL, September 15, 2010 ) ….AirTran Airways will begin nonstop service to
Ft. Myers
,
Florida
from the
Central
Illinois
Regional
Airport
at Bloomington-Normal beginning March 9, 2011.
The service will operate four times weekly to the popular beach
destination and start just in time for spring break across central
Illinois
.
Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority Board Chairman
Paul Harmon
said Ft Myers is a great fit for a new nonstop destination from CIRA.
“We are excited to have this new opportunity to partner
with AirTran at the Central Illinois Regional Airport.”, said Harmon. “
Ft.
Myers
is a major destination from our airport and a nonstop flight will fulfill the
requests we have heard from the community. We
are convinced this will add to the success of AirTran at CIRA.”
The nonstop flights to
Ft.
Myers
will be on AirTran’s full size Boeing 717 aircraft with 117 seats, free XM
satellite radio, Gogo Inflight Internet and business class seating available on
board.
